Connemara marble is a type of stone from the hills of Ireland. Named for the area where it is found. Its distinctive green color has made it prized for a variety of decorative uses. Connemara marble only comes from this one place, the region of Connemara in the County of Galway. Located on the west coast of Ireland, quarries extract the green marble from the limestone. Because it can only be quarried in such a small area, it is one of the rarest types of marble in the world. It has taken about 750 million years for the limestone in the hills of the Connemara region of Ireland to condense and form into this marble. It is formed from dolomitic calcite that has been heated by the movement and pressure of the rocks around it.

This rosary inspired necklace was designed for a very special client and is now available for all.
